Biography
Arda Güler is a Turkish professional footballer with sharp vision and creativity. He is a left-footed attacking midfielder who can play as a right-winger. He is also an intelligent playmaker who can create good passes in tight spaces.
Arda Guler grew up in Ankara, Turkey, with his parents, Umit Guler, and Serap Guler.
He began his career at the youth level with Gerçlerbirliği and later to the youth academy of the Turkish based football club Fernabache.
He signed a two-and-a-half-year professional contract with Fernabache in January 2021. He made his debut for the club in a match against HJK in the 2021-22 UEFA Europa League play-off. He had an amazing outing and performances with Fernabache where he won the Turksih cup.
He joined the Spanish club Real Madrid on a six-year contract on July 6, 2023, for a reported fee of €20 million. He made his debut in a 3-1 victory against Arandina in Copa del Rey, on January 6, 2024. He became an integral part of the squad in the 2025-26 season, following the appointment of Xavi Alonso as Real Madrid coach. He scored his first goal of the season in a 2-1 La Liga victory against Mallorca, on August 30, 2025.
Guler who represented Turkey at the under-17 level, made his senior debut in 2022. He was part of the squad for the UEFA Euro 2024. He scored in Turkey’s opening fixture 3-1 win over Georgia, and was awarded Player of the Match. He also helped the team reached the quarter-final of the competition with his assist as they defeated Austria 2-1 in the round of 16.
