Biography
Jonathan McReynolds is an American gospel singer and songwriter well known for his album “Make Room” and the song “Not Lucky, I’m Loved”. He has been recognized for his thoughtful style in modern gospel music, where melds personal faith with musical craftsmanship, and lyrics that goes well with both church-goers and broader listeners.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in the South Side by a single mother. He began playing drums at around age five and took up piano by age eight. He attended Whitney Young Magnet High School, where he first learned about recording and production. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Columbia College Chicago. He also completed a master’s degree in biblical studies.
