Biography
Adekunle Gold is a Nigerian singer and songwriter known for his songs, “Sade” and “Orente”. He has built a reputation for blending highlife, Afropop, R&B, and Afro-fusion over the years and has evolved into one of Afropop’s star.
Adekunle Gold was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He hails from a royal family in Lagos State. He showed passion for music at a veey early age while also having interest in visual design. He attended Lagos State Polytechnic, where he studied Arts and Design.
He was a member of a gospel music group known as The Bridge before going solo.
However, he had his major breakthrough in 2015 with the release of “Sade”. Following the success of “Sade,” he signed with YBNL Nation, a prominent Nigerian record label owned by Olamide. He released more hit singles under the label which include; “Orente” and “Pick Up”.

He won the Songwritwr of the Year at The Headies (2023), Best African Music Artist at IARA (2017), Album of the Year at City People Entertainment Awards (2017). Adekunle Gold was in a relationship with Simi for five years before they eventually got married in a private ceremony on January 9, 2019. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Adejare, on May 30, 2020.
