Biography
Moshood Adeoti is a Nigerian politician and a leader who is recognized for his work at the grassroot. He became known as a secretary to the Osun State Government under Rauf Aregbesola adminstration. He is already credited for his impact in the political sector with his public service experiences and high grassroot engagements which gave sustainable political movements.
Adeoti who was born in Osun State, had his primary and secondary education at District Council School, Laito Iwo, Aitapate Baptist Day School, Iwo, and Baptist High School. He also obtained a bachelors degree in Business Adminstration from the University of Benin.
Prior to politics, he worked as a graduate assistant at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, as a manager at Igbeyin – Adun Sawmill Iwo, and as a director at MOOA FARMS.
Alhaji Adeoti started his career in 1988 after being elected as a Councillor Iwo Local Government where he served as member of Health Committee, Revenue Mobilisation Committee, and Directorste of Foods.
He was appointed as a Local Government Supervisor in 1991 and later became the Coordinator of National Conference of Local Government Supervisors NACOLGS Osun State chapter between 1991 to 1993. He also served as a secretary to Iwo Local Government Iwo from August 1993 to September 1993.
Alhaji Adeoti, became the administrative secretary of the defunct United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) Iwo Local Government in 1996, and in 1998, he was the chairmanship candidate for Iwo Local Government under the Alliance for Democracy (AD) but his mandate was hijacked. He was later appointed by the Chief Bisi Akande (former governor of Osun state), as the chairman Transition Committee Iwo Local Government from June 2002 to May 2003. Alhaji Moshood eventually emerged as the Osun state chairman of Alliance for Democracy, a position which he served till November 2006.
He was appointed secretary to the state government in 2010 by Rauf Aregbesola as was also re-appointed as SSG in 2014. His service as SSG, had helped to bridge the gap between the governor’s office and the civil service.
Alhaji Moshood Adeoti made headlines in November 2025, after his withdrawal from the Omoluabi Progressives, a caucus associated with the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) which also had ties with the former governor Rauf Aregbesola.
However, his exit brought about lots of media attention and also rekindle conversations in the aspect of candidacy plans in Osun State politics.
Aside from politics, he was also involved with sports, having been a General Secretary of Iwo Zonal Boxing Association.
