Omah Lay is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer known for his soulful voice, and catchy melodies. He came to prominence for his songs “Bad Influnce”, “Understand”, and “Godly”.
Omah Lay was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He grew up with his siblings, in a musical family as his father played drums and his grandfather played musical instruments for Celestine Ukwu. He was exposed to various genres of music at a very young age.
The talented singer had his secondary education at Comprehensive high School in Port Harcourt and his tertiary education at the University of Port Harcourt, before he later dropped out to focus on music.
Omah Lay’s music career began to take shape when he started creating and sharing his own songs online. His early releases gained attention on social media platforms, particularly SoundCloud, where he built a loyal following.

Omah Lay came through professionally in 2019 with the release of the songs “Do Not Disturb” and “Hello Brother”. He was also signed to KeyQaad record label the same year, and began working on his debut EP titled “Get Layd”.
He released two songs off the Get Layd EP, “Bad Influence”, and “You”, in 2020. He also featured on Olamide’s “Infinity” off the album Carpe Diem.
He featured on the Canadian singer Justin Biebers remix of the song “Peeches” in June 2021, and followed up in July 2021, with the release of his single “Understand”.
Omah Lay delivered his second collaboration with Justin Bieber on his song “Attention”, in March 2022, which was off his debut album titled “Boy Alone” as released in July 2022.
He continued to release hit songs back to back from “Soso”, to “Holy Ghost”, and “Reason”. He also had major high profile collaborations with the likes of the French DJ and Producer, Martin Solveig, CIZA, and Tems.
