Omar Apollo is a Mexican-American multi-talented singer, songwriter and instrumentalist with lyrics often exploring his identity. His music genres of Pop, R&B, and soul also blends fully with his vocals.
Omar who was born in Hobart, Indiana, to Mexican immigrant parents, grew up bilingual and began singing in his local church. He learned to play the guitar at the age of 12 and started uploading self-recorded tracks to SoundCloud and Spotify as a teenager.
He began making music professionally in 2015 with his first song “Great Big House” released on August 27 of that same year.
He released the song “Ugotme,” a R&B single in 2017, which became popular online and earned millions of streams. Omar’s rise to fame and growing fan-base, gave him the opportunity to expand his music projects.
His debut EP, Stereo (2018), show off his ability to blend his extremely captivating vocals with funk instrumentals.
