Biography
Rio Ngumoha is an English professuonal footballer known for his quick footwork and excellent close ball control. He plays as a Left-winger or attacking midfielder and has been recognized for his pace and long range shooting skills.
Ngumoha was born in Havering, England to Nigerian and Guadeloupean parents. The family moved to London before Rio was born. His father can speak both the Yoruba and Igbo language.
He began his career at youth level with Chelsea before joining Liverpool academy in 2024.
He was called up to train with the Liverpool’s first team by manager Arne Slot. He made his professional debut in a 4-0 victory against Accrington at the FA Cup, on January 11, 2025.
Ngumoha made appearances in the club’s pre-season tour to Hong Kong in July 2025, where he had two goals and two assists in four games. He made his Premier League debut in a 3-2 away victory over Newcastle United where he scored in the 10th minute of stoppage time, after coming on as a substitute for Cody Gakpo.
Ngumoha choose to represent England at the youth level despite having both Nigerian and French Nationalities. He played for England at the under-15 and under-16 levels.
He made appearances at the 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship. He made his debut for England under-19 in a 2-0 victory against Ukraine on September 3, 2025.
