Biography
Yira Sor is a Nigerian professional footballer known for his explosive pace and dribbling as a winger. He has good movement off the ball and can also move within tight spaces.
Yira Sor was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and originally hails from Rivers State, Nigeria.
He started his career at the youth level with Port Harcourt-based Family Love Academy before moving to 36 Lion in Lagos.
Sor signed with Czech First League club BanÃk Ostrava, in February 2021. His impressive performances caught the attention of Slavia Prague, who confirmed his signing on January 21, 2022, on a contract until December 2026. As part of the deal, compatriot Ubong Ekpai was loaned to BanÃk Ostrava.
Sor scored a brace in Slavia Prague’s 3–2 UEFA Europa Conference League win over Fenerbahçe on February 24, 2022.
He eventually joined the Belgina club, Genk, on a five-year contract, on December 28, 2022.
Yira Sor played for the Nigerian youth team, having featured at the FIFA U-19 World Cup in Poland. He was called up to the Nigerian national team for their friendly match against Iran in March 2026.
