Biography
Tijjani Reijnders is a Dutch professional footballer with great vision, and excellent ball control. He is a central midfielder with good ball progression and movement off the ball.
Reijnders was born in Zwolle, Netherlands to parents Martin Reijnders, and Angelina Reijnders. His father, Martin who is a former footballer, is from the Netherlands and his mother Angelina is from Indonesia. He has a younger brother named Eliano Reijnders who is also a professional footballer.
He began his career at the youth level with WVF Zwolle in 2003, and went through the youth academy of PEC Zwolle, Fc Twente, CSV 28, and PEC Zwolle from 2007 to 2017.
He played for Jong AZ and AZ Alkmaar before going on loan to RKC Waalwijk in 2019.
He signed a five-year contract with the Italian club AC Milan on July 19, 2023. He scored his first goal for AC Milan in a Serie A match against Lecce.
He joined the English club Manchester City on a five-year deal at a reported fee of £46.3m. He made his league debut for the club in a 4-0 away victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he scored the second goal.
He represented Netherlands at the under-20 level before being called up to the senior team in June 2023, for the UEFA Nations League Finals.
He made his debut with the Dutch senior side in September 2023 as he became a regular under the manager Ronald Koeman. He started in all the six Netherlands matches at the Euro 2024 and helped the team reached the semi-finals.
