Biography
Asake is a Nigerian singer, and songwriter known for breaking records with his debut album, Mr Money With The Vibe. The talented singer who has been acknowledged for his unique blend of Afrobeat, fuji and hip hop music genres, already boast of lots of hit singles such as; Lonely at the Top, Sungba, Joha, and Organise.
Asake was born in Lagos and raised in Mushin area, where he had his basic education. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in theatre and performing arts at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State. He developed passion for music at a young age, and started writing songs as a teenager. His unique style and sound was influenced by his early life experiences and cultural background.
He came through with the release of his debut single “Mr. Money” in 2022, which was followed up with a remix with Peruzzi and Zlatan. He was signed to the now-defunct TFT records in 2018, and released the song “Kanipe” on February 26, 2019.
Asake was signed by Olamide to his YBNL record label, in February 2022. He immediately released his debut extended play “Ololade” under the imprint. The EP comprised of amazing songs including “Omo Ope” and “Sungba”, with the former paving the way as a breakthrough song. He later signed a distribution deal with Empire in July 2022.

He released his debut album Mr. Money with the Vibe, in 2022, which broke records by becoming the biggest opening day for an African album on Apple Music at the time. The album debuted at number 66 on the Billboard 200 chart. His subsequent albums Work of Art (2023) and Lungu Boy (2024) also achieved impressive chart positions, with Lungu Boy becoming his third consecutive number one album in Nigeria and the longest-running number one in Nigeria chart history.
Asake’s success has led to numerous accolades and recognition within the music industry. He has won several awards which include; two Headies awards, MOBO Awards, and All Africa Music Awards. He has also been nominated for Grammy Award and BET Award.
Asake who is not married, has reportedly reconciled with his baby mama named Adijat, whom they share a daughter together.
