Biography
Dominic Solanke is an English professional footballer known for his intelligent movement, and clinical finishing. He is a centre-forward with much composure in front of goal. He is also recognized for his front line press and hold up play.
Solanke was born in Reading, England. He is of mixed ethnicity as his father is a Nigerian Yoruba from the Yoruba tribe and his mother, an English. He had his basic education at Brighton Hill Community School in Basingstoke.
He joined Chelsea’s youth academy in 2004 and was later promoted to the senior team in 2014. He went on loan to Vitesse in 2015-16 season before joining Liverpool on July 10, 2017. He made his debut for Liverpool in a 2-1 victory against TSG Hoffenheim on August 16, 2017. He also scored his first goal for Liverpool in a 4-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion, on May 13, 2018.
Solanke moved to Bournemouth for e reported fee of £19 million, on January 4, 2019. He made his debut in a 2-0 loss against Cardiff City, on February 2. He scored his first goal for Bournemouth in a 4-1 win against Leicester City, on July 12, 2020.
He signed a six-year contract for Tottenham for a reported fee of £55 million, on August 10, 2024. He made his debut in a 1-1 draw with Leicester City, on August 19. He scored his first goal for Spurs in the UEFA Europa Europa League group stage match against Qarabag when ended 3-1 in favour of Tottenham.
Solanke has represented England at several youth levels, including under-17, under-19, and under-21 teams, where he was consistently a standout performer.
He was part of the England under-20 team that won the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup, scoring goals and providing leadership throughout the tournament.
His performances at youth level earned him call-ups to the senior team. He made his debut in a friendly match against Brazil in November 2017 and also came on as a substitute at the 72nd minute in a 2-1 defeat to Greece, in October 2024.
Dominic Solanke got engaged to his wife Erica Raimondi in November 2022 and got married on June 17, 2025. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter in September 2023.
