Anthony Gordon was born on February 24, 2001 in Liverpool, England. He was raised by parents, Nadine and Keith Gordon. He also grew up with his two younger brothers, Brandon and Reuben.
He began his football career at the youth level with Liverpool in 2007, before making his move to Everton. He later made his senior debut with Everton in December 2017, in an Europa League match. He made his Premier League debut in a 1-1 draw with West Ham United on January 18, 2020.
He signed a new five-year contract with Everton in September 2020, after which he joined the Championship club Preston North End on loan on February 1, 2021.

He was recognized by the Barcelona manager Hansi Flick for his high pressing which is one of the tactics deployed by the coach.
He played for England at the youth levels including U19, U20, and U21. He won the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 championship, where he scored the only goal of the quarter-finals against Portugal, and was also named Player of the Tournament.
