Biography
Brahim Diaz is a Moroccan professional footballer known for his excellent close control and pace. He is a classic attacking midfielder who can also play as a winger. His quick feet and low center of gravity allow him to beat defenders in tight spaces.
Brahim was born in Malaga, Spain to a Spanish mother, Patricia Diaz and Moroccan father Sufiel Abdelkader Mohand. He grew up with his siblings, four sisters namely; Zaira, Idaira, Dunia and Irina. His father is a sports director and co-founder of Never Say Never (NSN), a sports and entertainment company.
He began his career at the youth level with Malaga in 2010 and later moved to the youth academy of Manchester City in 2015. He made his first team debut for Manchester City in an EFL Cup tie against Swansea City on September 21, 2016, where he came on as a substitute for Kelechi Iheanacho.
He signed his first professional contract for City, five days later. He made his Premier League debut in a 3-1 win against Newcastle United, on January 20, 2018. He won the FA Community Shield in 2018 and Premier League in 2017-18 season, with Manchester City.
Brahim joined Real Madrid in 2019 and had a six-year deal for a fee of €24 million. He made his debut in a 3-0 win against Leganes in the Copa del Rey, on January 9, 2019. He scored his first goal in a 1-3 loss to Real Sociedad, on May 12, 2019.
He went on a three season loan to the Italian club, AC Milan and returned to Real Madrid on June 10, 2023, while signing a contract extension with the club until June 2027. He scored his first goal after his return, in a 2-0 La Liga win against Las Palmas, on September 27.
He won several titles with Real Madrid which include; FIFA Intercontinental Cup (2024), UEFA Super Cup (2024), UEFA Champions League (2023-24), La Liga (2019-20, 2023-24).
Brahim Diaz represented Spain at the under-17, under-19, and under-21 levels before deciding to play for Morocco at the senior level.
He made his debut in a 1-0 win against Angola on March 22, 2024. He scored his first goal for the Moroccan national team in a 4-1 win over Gabon at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification, on September 6, 2024.
He was part of the Morrocan squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco where he scored the tournaments opening goal.
Brahim Diaz has been in a relationship with Luz Mendez, a Spanish actress and model. They are often pictured together at events and also on his Instagram page.
