Hannibal Mejbri was born in Ivry-sur-Seine, France to Tunisian parents. His father Lotfi Mejbri is a former footballer and his mother was a physiotherapist. He was raised alongside his three siblings, two brothers and a sister. His elder brother Abderrahmen Mejbri is a coach in Vietnam.
He began his career at the youth level with Paris FC in 2009. He went through the youth academy of Boulogne-Billancourt, Monaco and Manchester United from 2017 to 2021.
He was promoted to the Manchester United senior team and made his debut in a 2-1 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers, on May 23, 2021.
He went on loan to Birmingham City for the 2022-23 season, and scored his first goal for the club in a match against West Bromich Albion on February 10, 2023.
He returned to Manchester United in September 2023, and scored his first Premier League goal for Manchester United in a 3-1 home loss to Brighton.
He went on loan to Sevilla on January 15, 2024, until the end of the season. He eventually joined Burnely on a four-year contract on August 29, 2024. He scored his first goal for Burnley in a 2-1 victory over Norwich City at the 2024-25 EFL Championship.
He played for France at the under-16 and under-17 levels before deciding to represent Tunisia at the senior level.
