Biography
Chinchilla is a British singer and rapper acknowledged for her bold, empowerment-driven pop sound. Chinchilla who hails from London and raised by parents who are actors by profession, began singing with a school band, overcoming her shyness through performances. She began crafting her independent musical journey after earning a degree in Music Industry Practice from Metropolis Studios’ ACM program in 2018.
She came through with her first single, “Elements” in 2019, which introduced her mix of pop and R&B. She followed up with her debut EP Awakening (2020), which was hailed by critics as “a remarkable introduction” for its confidence and depth in lyrics. She showed off her genre-blurring style, blending R&B, country, and pop with fearless lyrical flair on her EP Moon Maintenance for Dummies (2021).
Chinchilla came to prominence with the release of the song “Little Girl Gone” in 2023, a smash hit single which made her the first female UK solo artist in six years to debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart.
