Biography
Michael Olise is a French professional footballer known as a winger with good acceleration and exceptional dribbling skills. He has a quick change of pace when dribbling in tight spaces, and often pose threat to defenders in one one situations.
Michael Olise was born in London, England to a father who is of Nigerian descent and a French-Algerian mother.
He began his career at various English academies which include; Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City youth set up. He his professional debut in 2019 when he joined Reading FC, a Championship club in the English football league system. His impressive performances caught the attention of scouts and coaches, paving the way for his future success.
After three seasons with Reading, Olise was signed by Premier League club Crystal Palace in 2021. During his time at Crystal Palace, he demonstrated his exceptional skills, earning a nomination for PFA Young Player of the Year in 2024.
His impressive form and creativity on the pitch caught the eye of Bayern Munich, who subsequently signed him on July 7, 2024, on a five-year contract, for a reported fee of €60 million.
He made his debut for Bayern Munich in a 4-0 victory over SSV Ulm, on August 16, 2024. He scored his first Bundesliga goal in a 6-0 thrashing of Holstein Kiel, on September 14. He also scored a brace in a 10-0 win against Auckland City in the opening match of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, and helped the club secured a place in the knockout phase of the competition after scoring the winner in the 2-1 win over Boca Juniors.
Olise represented France at the under-18 and under-21 levels and was also part of the squad for the 2024 Summer Olympics before being called up to the senior team on August 29, 2024. He made his debut for the national team in a 3-1 loss to Italy at the UEFA Nations League on September 6. He scored his first goal in a 2-0 victory against Croatia in the second leg of the Nations League quarter finals, on March 23, 2025.
