Biography
Patrick Dorgu is a Danish professional footballer and a Left wing-back with explosive pace, dribbling and close control. He is a versatile player who can be deployed as a full-back or as a winger.
Dorgu was born in Copenhagen, Denmark to Nigerian parents, Paul and Clara Dorgu, who are from Imo State. He grew up alongside his siblings, Ifenna, and Gabriel.
He began playing football at his boyhood club Husum Boldklub and went through the youth academy of Akademisk Boldklub, Nordsjælland, and Lecce, from 2016 to 2023.
He was promoted to the senior team if Lecce at the 2023-24 season. He made his debut in a Coppa Italia match against Como, on August 13, 2023. He scored his first goal for the club in a 3-2 victory over Fiorentina , February 2, 2024.
He signed a five-and-a-half-year contract for Manchester United for a reported fee of £25 million, on February 2, 2025. He made his debut on February 7, in a 2-1 victory over Leicester City, in the FA Cup.
Dorgu who is of Nigerian descent, choose to represent his country of Birth at the international stage. He played for Denmark from under-18 to under-21 levels. He made his debut for the Danish national team in a 2-0 victory against Switzerland on September 5, 2024, where he also scored his first goal after coming on as a substitute for Victor Nelsson.
