Biography
Nuno Santos is a Portuguese professional footballer known for his speed, dribbling, and creativity as a left-winger. He is recognized for his ability to beat defenders, and deliver precise crosses.
Santos was born in Trofa, Portugal, and began his career in the local club Trofense. He went through the youth academy of FC Porto, Benfica, and Rio Ave.
He also played for the senior team of Enficaband Rio Ave before joining Sporting CP on a five-year contract on August 21, 2020.
At Sporting CP, Santos was used as a left wing-back on several occasions by the coach Ruben Amorim. He helped his side clinched the league title in 2023-24 season, and later missed the most of the following campaign due to injury. He returned back from injury on February 1, 2026. He made his impact in the main squad in a 3-2 extra time win over AVS Futebol SAD in the quarter-finals of the Taça de Portugal, where he came on as a substitute for Francisco Trincão.
He represented Portugal from the under-16 to under-21 levels. He scored an early goal in 3-0 victory against Senegal at the FIFA U-20 World Cup. He was also named in the 55-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
