Santos was born in Trofa, Portugal, and began his career in the local club Trofense. He went through the youth academy of FC Porto, Benfica, and Rio Ave.
He also played for the senior team of Enficaband Rio Ave before joining Sporting CP on a five-year contract on August 21, 2020.
At Sporting CP, Santos was used as a left wing-back on several occasions by the coach Ruben Amorim.
